Seniors Safety Tips Home seller and buyer

Whether you've been in your home for a long time or recently moved in, here are some common sense tips.

- Install smoke alarms on every storey of your home.

- Check electrical cords regularly and do not use if they show signs of damage (your favourite bedside lamp may just need a wiring update!)

- Use a proper step stool when reaching for higher objects.

- Never use electrical appliances (including radios, hair dryers or telephones) near a wet sink or bathtub. This one is a toughy at my house as thats where the plug is. It is a special outlet though. Go to the electrical section of the hardware store and ask for some advise on replacing yours.
